Built for a Better Workflow

Traq is a project management tool born from a simple idea: developers and teams deserve software that is powerful, not punishing. We're here to provide a self-hosted, open-source solution that puts you back in control.

The Journey of Traq

Traq was started in 2009 by a single developer, nirix, who needed a straightforward, self-hosted PHP issue tracker without the bloat of existing tools. It began as a personal project driven by a real-world need for efficient agile development.

From its humble beginnings, Traq evolved. Fueled by community feedback and a commitment to open-source principles, it grew from a simple bug tracker into a comprehensive project management system. Today, it stands as a testament to the idea that great tools can be built collaboratively, remain free, and respect the user's freedom and data.
