Announcing Traq v3.9.0-alpha.2

By Jack ·

We're excited to announce Traq v3.9.0-alpha.2, the second alpha of the upcoming v3.9.0 release. This build adds a reCaptcha plugin for registration, refreshes the roadmap, project listing, and changelog, and tightens ticket search and session handling.

⚠️ Alpha Release Warning

This is an alpha release and should NOT be used in production. If you want to test it on an existing install, backup your database first. I will not be held responsible for any loss of data.

What's New in v3.9.0-alpha.2?

This release focuses on registration, project pages, and day-to-day ticket work:

reCaptcha on Registration

A new reCaptcha plugin challenges new sign-ups on the registration form, so automated accounts can be stopped before they are created.

Refreshed Roadmap and Project Listing

The roadmap has new styling, and the project listing page has been cleaned up so projects are easier to scan.

Changelog Items Link to Tickets

The changelog page has been reworked. The layout is cleaner.

Find Related Tickets Faster

Related tickets can be searched by summary or ticket ID, so linking work together takes less hunting through the list.

A More Useful Ticket Listing

Summary and description search is more thorough, and a column selector lets you choose which columns to show. Status, priority, and severity IDs are now included in the listing data. Listing padding, overall styling, and the editor have been tightened up as well.

Stronger Sessions

The session token is rotated on login, logout, and password change. Session cookies are HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and they are marked Secure when Traq is served over HTTPS. New helpers, setSessionCookie() and clearSessionCookie(), keep that cookie behaviour in one place.

Fixes and Framework Updates

Output is escaped more consistently. Type issues in milestones, custom fields, and the ticket filter query have been corrected, and editing or deleting ticket history works again. Locale files are loaded only when they exist, which avoids errors and broken translations. Project page titles are fixed, PopoverConfirm has been tweaked, and the Avalon framework has been updated to 0.9.x.

Testing the Alpha
