The Future of Traq: A New Interface & Lightning Speed
Following the successful release of Traq v3.8.0, I've been hard at work planning the next major evolution of the platform. I'm not just planning new features; I'm reimagining the entire user experience. I'm thrilled to share some of my roadmap with you today, which focuses on a cleaner, faster, and more powerful interface for managing your projects.
What's Next for Traq?
My development is now focused on four core pillars: a modern UI, powerful new workflows, blazing-fast performance, and a robust backend. Here's a look at what's on the way:
A Complete UI/UX Revamp
I'm redesigning the Traq interface from the ground up. The goal is a cleaner, modern look with less clutter, surfacing the essential information you need. This includes new dashboards to give you a better high-level view of your projects.
New Ticket Listings & Kanban Board
A new, more powerful ticket listing view is on the way. But the most exciting part is the long-awaited introduction of a built-in Kanban board! You'll be able to visually manage your tasks with a simple drag-and-drop interface.
Blazing Speed: Lightweight & Framework-Free
To make Traq faster and lighter than ever, I'm moving away from heavier JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js and switching fully to Alpine.js. This shift will result in a more lightweight, speedy, and responsive interface, reducing load times and improving your daily workflow.
Backend Optimisation & Modernisation
Alongside the new UI, I'll be working hard on cleaning up and optimising the backend PHP code. This includes integrating the latest changes from the Avalon PHP framework to ensure Traq is not just fast on the front-end, but also more stable, secure, and maintainable on the back-end.
